Camping at Flaming Gorge

Flaming Gorge is located in the northeast corner of Utah. Half of the lake is located in Wyoming. This is a man made lake. There is a dam that is 502 ft high at the south end of it. The deepest depth of water is 436 feet. Very clear but deep lake. It has a series of large canals at both ends of the lake. It is 91 miles long. It is named after its flaming red rocks that are as steep as 1000 ft. This is so far our favorite place.

The mountains of rock come straight out of the water.

There is also white sandstone rock with pine trees growing out of them.

Lance getting a tow.

Some kids jumping off the rock.

Playing in the freezing cold water.

I don't know why the picture keeps posting sideways. I guess because the truck we borrowed was soooo long.

Tom's friend Matt joined us.

The boys emptying the potty.
